Lisa Larkin, MD, FACP, NCMP, IF, is a board-certified internist, practicing internal medicine and women’s health in Cincinnati since 1991. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Long Island, NY, Dr. Larkin graduated from Skidmore College and Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago.

Over the last 25 years, she has worked both in the academic and private practice settings. Most recently, Dr. Larkin designed, developed, opened and served as Director of the UC Health Women’s Center, the region’s first comprehensive, primary care-directed, medical home for women. She recently left that role to open an internal medicine and women’s health practice that will utilize the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model – offering patients affordable, accessible, personalized medicine. She shares why she is so passionate about her new model for practicing medicine in our Flair Confidence Podcast (you can find on iTunes or https://flairconfidence.com/media/) She believes the ability to spend more time with each patient allows deeper relationships that include conversations around home life, social concerns, depression, aging and wellness.

Dr. Larkin explains the disparity in women’s health, from clinical trials only being performed on men – resulting in too large of dosages, to women having different diseases and concerns, which until recently have been neglected.

My favorite portion, listen as Lisa shares how her own health scare has been a profound lesson in gratitude and friendships. She is now protective of her time, prioritizing rest, workouts and relationships. Take a Listen at https://flairconfidence.com/media/
